Albert Nel

Albert Nel is the Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific at OpenText and is responsible for leading sales functions across all business units.

Albert joined OpenText as part of the EMC ECD (Enterprise Content Division) acquisition where he was Sales Director for Asia Pacific and Japan. He was responsible for regional revenue growth of the full ECD technology portfolio, which spanned multiple industries including Financial Services, Life Sciences and Energy and Engineering.

Prior to moving to Sydney Australia, Albert was based in California, where he managed large, global strategic customers. By identifying KPIs and driving multi-faceted EMC resources toward customer needs, he increased EMC mindshare and footprint in world-leading customer environments such as Boeing, American Express and Wells Fargo.

Prior to his US-based role, Albert spent over five years developing and growing EMC ECD’s South African business. He established ECD as the leader in Financial Services, owning 60% market share at the time and doubling the team to support Government, Public Sector and Energy customer segments.
