Karen Gately has an unwavering belief in the power of the human spirit. An author, speaker, advisor and educator in the fields of human performance and leadership, Karen brings a fresh perspective to what it takes to be a successful manager of people. She focuses on leveraging both talent and energy, and shows leaders how to drive performance through inspiring, results-based leadership.

Karen is the author of two books, The Corporate Dojo: driving extraordinary results through spirited people and The People Manager’s Toolkit, which present a correlation between focussing on people and success. Karen does away with ambiguous concepts and equips leaders with realistic strategies and practical solutions. Her pragmatic, uncomplicated and down to earth approach is what sets her apart from many other commentators in her field.

Karen writes extensively for publications such as BRW, Company Director and HR Director Magazines, The Age and The Australian newspapers, Management Today and Career One. She is regularly invited to share her insights in both print and broadcast media, including on Chanel Nine’s Weekend Today Show, ABC Radio, 2GB, Qantas Radio and Power FM among others.

Over the span of her corporate career Karen has worked in client service, strategy and planning, and quality management. In 2006, after eight years with The Vanguard Group where she was the head of human resources for the Asia Pacific region, Karen founded Corporate Dojo, an HR consultancy with offices in Melbourne and Brisbane. Together with her team Karen works with organisations across a broad range of industries to help them build and leverage talented and energised teams.
