Mia McCarthy founded Yummia in 2011 as a hobby while she was studying Primary Education at Macquarie University. Identifying a gap in the market, Mia innovated her own product; a range of ready-to-go bircher muesli products for both the retail and food service trade.
Since then, the product has grown in popularity, and the company has become the first in Australia to create ready-made bircher muesli in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) capacity, the success of which prompted Mia to launch the Yummia Yoghurt range – the first yoghurt range in Australia with a fruit and vegetable offering. Mia is passionate about health and wellbeing and wanted to create a yummy and affordable way to incorporate extra vegetables into the consumers’ every day diet.
Today all Yummia products are stocked across Australia in all Woolworths and independent supermarkets, as well as Caltex petrol stations.
Not only is Mia running a successful national business, she has also commenced her postgraduate diploma in Strategy and Innovation at Oxford University.
