To be eligible for the Building and Construction Executive of the Year award, applicants should:
- Be able to demonstrate excellence in their role within the building and construction industry (commercial and residential, land preparation, equipment hire, and/or construction/development).
As part of the application process, applicants are required to answer equally weighted questions that refer to achievements in the last 12 months.
Applicants need to answer two of the following three questions:
- Green buildings consume 26 per cent less energy than the average building and generate 33 per cent fewer greenhouse gas emissions. What sustainability strategies have you implemented to reduce your organisation’s impact on the environment?
- A reduction in total construction spend is predicted over the next five to 10 years. In the context of a downward shift, what initiatives have you put in place to ensure stability in to the future?
- The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and Austrade are working in conjunction “… to promote, attract, facilitate and retain foreign direct investment in Australian infrastructure…” What initiatives have you put in place to leverage foreign investment and/or remain competitive in the changing environment?
