There were a record 2,208 billionaires in the world as of March this year, according to Forbes. Together, they’re worth a jaw-dropping US$9.1 trillion.

At the top of the uber-rich list are names like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Bernard Arnault and Mark Zuckerberg – and the five of them have a collective net worth of more than US$563 billion.

While Bezos is currently spearheading the ‘centibillionare’ era (someone with a net worth of US$100 billion or higher), Arnault and the others are nipping at his heels.

So how exactly does this wealth compare to your own?

The experts at RS Components wondered the same thing, so they created the ‘You Vs a Billionaire’ calculator.

By knowing how much the wealth of the top five billionaires on the Forbes rich list has increased over the past year, the calculator is able to determine exactly how quickly these billionaires bring home the average person’s salary.

Prepare to be amazed… and a little disheartened.
