Co-founded by the Executive Chairman, Greville Pabst, a man who has developed a strong media profile based on his expert understanding of the property market, WBP Property Group equips everyday Australians with the information they need to make a sound investment. Known for his property advice columns in major publications like the Australian Financial Review and his role as a judge on reality television show The Block – Greville and the other 250 members of the WBP team provide property advice and services from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Newcastle.
Making smart decisions in an uncertain property market
Greville believes relying on the experts at WBP– which was established 25 years ago – means not having to speculate about the property market. Dealing in experience and hard data, the company’s diversification strategy and its ability to provide advanced answers for consumers well beyond simple property valuations are what sets it apart.
“We provide property solutions,” says Greville. “Everything from up-to-date analytics, advice on why you should buy and evaluating and negotiating the price, to managing your assets.”
A business that invests in itself
The company is not only expanding rapidly, the strong team is all about achieving results, both internally and for WBP’s customers. “We’ve been a Telstra Business of the Year and featured in the BRW Fast 100 several times, and I believe our growth has really been driven by our culture,” says Greville, who saw his business grow by 40% last year, while competitors struggled to maintain the status quo.
WBP’s CEO, Greg Wickham, agrees culture is a major aspect of the WBP success story, having left another similar business to join the team early last year. “WBP has opportunities for movement,” he says. “It’s nimble and able to go in the right direction with an innovative approach and strategy.”
WBP continues with its mission to help people make informed property decisions when buying, selling and managing residential and commercial real estate. The company credits its long-term success to its independence from developers and real estate agents, having no financial ties to any of the properties it works with.
Long-time friends and now business partners, Greg and Greville are excited about where the company is headed in the future. “We both have a clear understanding of what each of us brings to the table. Greville sets the vision and I strategise,” Greg says.
