How the United Arab Emirates is helping global investors

His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani, the Private Office of H H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, speaks with The CEO Magazine from the palace.

Once a vast land of rolling sand dunes, the United Arab Emirates has grown to become one of the most powerful and wealthiest nations on Earth. And for more than a decade, His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani has been working alongside the nation’s esteemed royal families.

From the palace, the Chairman of the Private Office of H H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi shared how the UAE has significantly shifted in the past 15 years alone.

“From oil we create a civilisation, from oil we create a strong country,” His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani told The CEO Magazine. “We sent the satellite to Mars and we sent a satellite to the moon as well.

“I think our ancestors, they would be proud of us and the achievements we’ve made.”

Further amplifying the UAE’s success is what the Private Office of H H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi is hoping to achieve.

Since its inception, the Private Office has focused on property and real estate, as well as building the UAE into a beautiful destination.

Led by H H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, the Private Office has created a better place for investors seeking to invest globally.

“Our office is open for all the startups and businesspeople worldwide to come and visit … for any consultation or any help they request or [want] to know about our lovely country,” His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani says. “For us it’s important that the client would come to visit us, be loyal, be decent and have a good reputation – for us, money is not important; for us, reputation [is important].”

Described as being a hub of multiple nationalities and religions, Dubai was the idyllic location for Sir Anthony Ritossa’s 12th Global Family Office Investment Summit with strategic partner H H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi. Held at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah in late October, it hosted Dubai’s first ever VIP Israeli investor delegation following the Israel–UAE peace agreement.

The history-making summit was held in line with COVID-19 guidelines – a health challenge the Middle East has tackled through strong leadership.

“In the current situation of COVID-19, in April and March when the virus started to [spread] worldwide, our leadership took the opportunity to help and to make the necessary things in the country to be safe for all the humans living here – and we succeeded thanks to God,” His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani says.

Through reaching new heights at the family office gathering, the chairman believes success is inevitable. However, in order to find success, His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani believes it’s crucial to read and listen to others.

“Because if you don’t listen to people or take any advice from younger or older [people], that means that you don’t want success,” he explains.

As the Private Office continues on its journey to establish more global connections and be a safe haven for business, the future for the UAE will only become more abundant with opportunities.

“I believe that our vision is to grow more and more – to be an international, worldwide private office and to put our name in history,” His Excellency Adnan Al Noorani says. “The office is day by day growing, and we have representative offices worldwide in 22 countries.

“This is my achievement. We say a sentence in Arabic, and it means that in the future we’ll be more beautiful and better – and I believe [it].”
