Aston Martin unveils its Rapide AMR

It’s the marque’s most extreme four-door sports car ever released.

Thoroughly reengineered to be more focused, agile and dynamic, Aston Martin’s AMR badge has officially reached the Rapide – a four-door perfect for a high-speed journey in luxury.

The Rapide AMR will sport the same 6.0-litre V12 engine as the Vantage GT12, putting out almost 600 bhp and 465 lb ft, all thanks to better airflow and a new engine calibration.

“AMR takes technology and inspiration from our motorsport program to amplify the sporting prowess in our road cars. With enhanced performance, sharper dynamics and more powerful design language, Aston Martin has taken Rapide to new and exciting extremes,” says Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer.

A new quad exhaust also ensures a wild sound befitting of the AMR badge.

To help harness all of this power and to launch from zero to 60mph in just 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds), the Rapide AMR has 21-inch wheels – a first for any Aston Martin – paired with ultra-high-performance Michelin Super Sport tyres.

It also shows off a fresh grille, front splitter and rear diffuser, with the extensive use of carbon fibre detailing on the exterior providing the perfect finishing touches.

And the interior is equally breathtaking. Its lightweight carbon fibre front seats, trimmed in Dark Knight Alcantara with lime green accents make for a striking look.

Combined with its carbon fibre waterfall, door casings and centre console that runs the whole length of the vehicle, the Rapide AMR is an extraordinary fusion of race car boldness with a lavish twist.

If you’re not fond of the iconic lime hue, you can opt for Galena silver highlights instead.

Aston Martin also offers the Rapide AMR with a Silhouette scheme, replacing the body’s standard with a choice of China Grey or Clubsport White. There’s also the Signature scheme – a mingling of Stirling Green paint and AMR lime accents.

Quick, better pull out your credit card.

Prices start from US$240,000 – deliveries will start in Quarter 4, 2018.
