How to curate the life you want

You are what you think, so think big.

Guide to manifesting

If you’re feeling like you’re stuck in a rut after two years of constant uncertainty, you’re certainly not alone – but don’t let it stop you from living your best life. Make 2022 your best year by turning your life around through the simple art of manifesting.

Throughout the pandemic, the rise of manifesting flooded social media. A beacon of hope during challenging times, the term has surged by 590 per cent since 2017, according to Google Trends.

Despite the increasing interest, people have been manifesting for centuries. Manifestation is based on the law of attraction, which was first brought to light by philosophers in the 19th century including Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Manifestation has also been mentioned throughout history in several ancient cultures including Buddhism and Hinduism.

What is manifesting?

Albert Einstein believed imagination is everything, it is the preview of life’s coming attraction.

Manifesting conceptualises the idea that you can think something into existence. By simply envisioning exactly what you want in life through your mind’s eye, wellness experts believe you can attract your dreams and turn it into reality.

“Every single person is manifesting whether they’re doing it consciously or unconsciously,” TEDx Speaker Marian Bacol-Uba told Naira . “When you realise how powerful of a creator and manifestor you are, you can design the life, business/career and relationships that you desire.”

Manifestation should not be mistaken for wishing. It requires you to consider your intentions, to write down your goals and take action every day.

While it’s not heavily backed by science, many of the world’s top leaders believe they manifested their lives and the success that followed.

Even Albert Einstein believed “imagination is everything, it is the preview of life’s coming attraction”.

How to start manifesting

  • Be open minded:
  • trust the process and be open to the different ways your goals or dreams may present themselves – your perfect opportunity may look different to what you were expecting.

  • Determine your goal:
  • figure out what you want to achieve, and make it really clear.

  • Write down what you want:
  • once you know what you want, write it down in a journal. Be sure to be specific and openly express exactly what you’re after.

  • Create a plan:
  • come up with the steps you need to take to achieve your goal – if you’re manifesting to be the CEO of a company, you might start by researching what new skills you need to become a CEO.

  • Use your mind:
  • steer your thoughts towards achieving your goals. Ask yourself, how can your thoughts match what you’re wanting in life?

  • Dream it:
  • envision yourself living out your goal – picture every moment and harness your mind’s eye to bring your manifesting to fruition.

  • Avoid what you can’t control:
  • focus your energy into what you can control, rather than what you can’t. For example, what opportunities you want to say yes or no to.

From your dream role and ideal salary to the house you live in or the holiday you’ve always wanted to take, experts believe manifesting anything is possible. All it takes is being open to the universe.
