As 4.9 million Australians have been affected by stress in just the past two years, TNQ’s Feel Grounded campaign aims to encourage people to visit Cairns to reconnect with nature.

“We want to show where Tropical North Queensland fits into the Queensland story and how the destination benefits travellers,” Tourism Tropical North Queensland CEO Pip Close says. “With wellness a priority for many in 2019, Tropical North Queensland is the place where they can feel grounded with incredible locations for hiking, biking, swimming, diving and yoga.
“It’s all about taking time out with incredible experiences set against nature.”
Fast-paced lifestyles may be to blame for increased stress where 63% of Australian workers feel there are not enough hours in the day and 52% of employees blame their jobs as a source of stress, according to Medibank.

The #FeelGrounded campaign hopes to inspire burnt-out executives to the pristine coastal gem for quality rest and rejuvenation without the need to pull out a passport.
Australian model Samantha Harris was among the first to explore the untouched region following the campaign reveal.
“It was incredible to be invited to Tropical North Queensland to explore the destination – we were literally chasing waterfalls,” Harris says. “I totally connected with the feel grounded concept – it’s exactly what you feel from the minute you touch down in Tropical North Queensland – that feeling of letting all your stress and worry go.
