Entrepreneur Hayden Cox announced as the new brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen Australia

The founder and owner of surfboard empire Haydenshapes is adding new dimension to the luxury swiss watch house.

With an unparalleled eye for innovation and modern design, it seems only fitting that Cox join the 150-year-old swiss manufacturer on Australian turf.

The surfboard mastermind will collaborate with the leading watch company on a series of events including unique experiences such as surfboard and watchmaking sessions, allowing Haydenshapes Surfboards to forge a connection with the Swiss luxe brand’s esteemed clientele.

Renowned for his love of the ocean, Cox converted his passion into a leading performance surfboard brand that now showcases some of the world’s most sought after designs including the Hypto Krypto surfboard and the FutureFlex, a signature surfboard technology developed and patented by Cox in 2006.

“Hayden shares similar values to IWC Schaffhausen and is very passionate about his craft. He is successful yet humble and we are very happy to welcome him as a brand ambassador,” said Florian Gutsmiedl, Brand Director for IWC Schaffhausen Australia.

The dynamic partnership comes as no surprise after Cox was photographed earlier this year at the intimate dinner for the launch of IWC’s 29-piece limited-edition Jubilee collection in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo.

Both powerhouses have something in common – they have gained an international reputation producing timeless pieces based on an unwavering passion for style, change and ingenuity.

“I am always very intrigued and eager to learn about manufacturing methods and craftsmanship across all types of industries and disciplines and how that can, in turn, influence my own craft,” says Cox.

“IWC is a brand that appeals so much to me because of the detail and intricacies behind its products. There’s that blend of quality, form, function that’s classic and understated. Being able to strike that balance with a product personally inspires me as a designer.”

The newly appointed ambassador first founded Haydenshapes in 1998 at the ripe age of 15. Fast forward to 2018 and his surfboards are now sold in over 70 countries with an expansion of the brand and offices in both the USA and Australia.
