Ulysse Nardin unveils the perfect timepieces to match your superyacht

Two ultra-special-edition models from the masters of Swiss timekeeping will mark the return of the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show.

The Ulysse Nardin name has been steeped in oceanic pursuits for 175 years and today, that illustrious milestone culminates in the arrival of a duo of stylish timepieces perfected for superyacht connoisseurs.

Debuting at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, the limited-edition Diver and Marine Megayacht models showcase contrasting aesthetics paired with the Swiss watchmaker’s legendary exploits in mechanical craftsmanship.

The Diver is defined by impeccable nautical undertones with red highlights and the Monaco Yacht Show insignia. Meanwhile, the Marine bears all the hallmarks of unwavering prestige at sea with the generous appointment of 5N rose gold.

It’s a huge statement coming back to the show after a year’s absence, while the show itself will once again become a spectacle for lovers of sumptuous yachts, incredible destinations and luxury getaways all on display at Monaco’s prestigious Port Hercules.

Diver Chronograph Monaco Yacht Show Limited Edition

Nautical timepieces come from a rich heritage of dependable tool watches built for the high seas. Ulysse Nardin is paying a stylish homage to that era with its new Diver Chronograph Monaco Yacht Show Limited Edition, a 44-millimetre model featuring a lightweight and highly robust titanium case.

The sapphire caseback proudly shows off the Calibre UN-150 Manufacture automatic movement, which boasts a power reserve of 48 hours alongside hours, minutes, small seconds and date functions. The chronometer functions are fulfilled with a minute chronometer counter at the 3 o’clock mark, hour meter at the 6 o’clock mark and central seconds chronometer.

The white dial is also a noteworthy appointment as it features contrasting subdials in blue along with fine touches of red throughout. The titanium bezel is coated in rubber for ease of use and legibility down to an impressive depth of 300 metres.

Several strap options are available for this model including a Monaco Yacht Show signature rubber strap, metal bracelet or fabric with a Velcro fastener.

This timepiece will be strictly limited to 100 pieces worldwide with a price of US$13,000.

Marine Mega Yacht

Using the framework of the proven Marine Torpilleur model, Ulysse Nardin has today created a brand-new Mega Yacht model in rose gold, which follows on from its 2019 platinum version.

Leaving no luxury stone unturned, the watch features striking design aesthetics reminiscent of today’s most stunning mega yachts. It all starts with a 44-millimetre 5N rose gold case that houses Ulysse Nardin’s equally stunning flying tourbillon equipped with a cage modelled on a latest-generation ship’s propeller. This mechanical masterpiece sits on a 3D Grand Feu enamel dial, which mimics a ship’s bow plowing its way through the ocean waves.

Elsewhere, there are functions such as a painstakingly detailed moon phase indicator, a power reserve indicator with anchor and windlass linked to the winding mechanism, and an indicator for tidal coefficients and volumes. Even the hours and minutes hands are specially designed to reflect the majestic lamps of lighthouses or buoys floating on the horizon out at sea. The Calibre UN-631 movement, which can be viewed in the sapphire caseback, delivers a power reserve of 80 hours to ensure precision timekeeping is maintained, even in times of inactivity.

Rated with a water resistance of 50 metres, it is beautifully finished with a fully integrated navy blue alligator leather strap. As one of Ulysse Nardin’s more special offerings, the Marine Mega Yacht will be limited to just 30 pieces worldwide with a retail price of US$306,000.
