Champion chronograph: The timepiece changing the professional diving world

Panerai unveils its newest watch that breaks boundaries, above and below sea level.

Dive watch Panerai Submersible

Inspired by French world champion freediver Guillaume Néry, the Panerai Submersible timepiece dares to dive to new depths in sophisticated style.

With water resistance of up to 300 metres, the Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry edition is equipped with innovative technology, making it the ultimate professional diving watch.

Featuring a rotating bezel to calculate dive duration, and white and blue luminescent indices that are exceptionally visible in all conditions, the chronograph is as much a statement under water as it is on dry land.

“The dive is a journey to the very limits of human possibility, a journey into the unknown.” – Guillaume Néry

The special edition Italian watch, which was previewed before the annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, features an engraving of Néry’s signature on the case. Beside the inscription floats an image of a diver and fish representing the French champion’s latest breathtaking record – a depth of 126 metres reached with a single breath.

“The dive is a journey to the very limits of human possibility, a journey into the unknown,” Néry says. “But it’s also, and above all, an inner journey where a number of things happen.”

Above the ocean, the titanium case and blue ceramic bezel partners perfectly with the distinct blue rubber strap and blue markers.

Created in the high-end Laboratorio di Idee at Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, the stylish chronograph with three-day power reserve uses innovative technology for ultimate precision.

Néry says he is “very proud” of the new addition to the Panerai portfolio – a heritage collection that began upon the company’s inception in Florence, Italy, in 1860.

“The Guillaume Néry edition was made by my partner Panerai for my future exploration of the deep ocean,” says the brand’s ambassador.

The passionate ocean experts who blend Italian design with Swiss technology will officially reveal the commemorative timepiece at the professional watchmakers’ convention in Geneva, Switzerland, January 2019.
